Elin is a lic. Psychologist and PhD at Karolinska Institutet. She works at Gustavsberg primary care center where she, along with her clinical research, works with education and implementation of evidence-based treatments for conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders and stress-related disorders.
Her main research interest concerns stress-related disorders such as adjustment disorders and “exhaustion disorder” (a Swedish diagnosis called “utmattningssyndrom”) for which the scientific basis for treatment recommendations is deficient and there is a lack of evidence-based treatments. Elin’s research focusses on better understanding the Swedish exhaustion disorder as well as developing effective, highly accessible treatment for these patients. Studying treatment mechanisms and cost-effectiveness of different treatment approaches is an important part of this work.
