Julia Bäckman

Julia Bäckman is a licensed psychologist and PhD student in psychiatric genetics. Her research focuses on the relationship between genetic factors and outcomes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has conducted transdiagnostic studies involving depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), using a range of genetic methods including polygenic scores, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and copy number variants (CNVs).

She will defend her thesis, “Bridging Genes and Therapy: Insights into CBT Outcomes for OCD, Anxiety, and Depression,” on September 12.
