MULTI-PSYCH is an innovative precision medicine project that merges clinical, genetic, and nationwide register data to enhance our understanding and treatment of mental health disorders. This initiative focuses on a longitudinal cohort of 2,668 individuals diagnosed with depression, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder, all of whom have received internet-based cognitive behavior therapy (ICBT). Each participant has contributed blood samples for genetic analysis, and their clinical and genetic data have been linked to extensive Swedish national registers, providing a comprehensive view of their health from birth through up to 10 years after ICBT.
The primary goal of MULTI-PSYCH is to advance risk assessment, improve outcome prediction, and develop more effective secondary preventive interventions. By integrating detailed clinical information with genetic and long-term follow-up data, this project aims to refine how we identify and manage individuals at risk of poor outcomes, ultimately leading to more personalized and effective treatment strategies.
These variables include:
- Perinatal complications
- School grades
- Psychiatric and somatic comorbidity
- Dispensed medications
- Medical interventions and diagnoses
- Health care and social benefits
- Demographics
- Income
