Martin Turesson presents major progress in risk calculator study at WCP 2026

Martin Turesson is a PhD candidate in Team Modelling within our research group and a specialty trainee in psychiatry. At the World Congress of Psychiatry (WCP) 2026, he presented the latest findings from our risk calculator study, attracting considerable interest from congress participants.

The project aims to support more personalised care after involuntary psychiatric hospitalisation. Clinicians and patient representatives highlighted the prototype’s potential to make risk assessment more systematic and transparent while supporting clinical judgement. Their feedback has driven concrete refinements to its interface and choice of outcomes, ensuring that development reflects clinical priorities and patient perspectives.

Next steps include final statistical modelling, linking predicted risk to tailored voluntary aftercare, and preparing for a cluster randomised pilot study.
